Double Double

June 9, 2014 - King James Version
1 Him that is weak in the faith receive ye , but not to doubtful disputations. 2 For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak , eateth herbs. 3 Let
not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let
not him which eateth not judge him that eateth : for God hath
received him. 4 Who art thou
that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth
or falleth . Yea, he shall be holden up : for God is able to
make him stand . 5 One man
esteemeth one day above another : another esteemeth every day
alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. 6 He
that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that
regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He
that eateth , eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks ; and
he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God
thanks . 7 For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. 8 For
whether we live , we live unto the Lord; and whether we die ,
we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die ,
we are the Lord's. 9 For to
this end Christ both died , and rose , and revived , that he
might be Lord both of the dead and living . 10 But
why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set
at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the
judgment seat of Christ. 11 For
it is written , As I live , saith the Lord , every knee shall
bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. 12 So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. 13 Let
us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this
rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall
in his brother's way. 14 I know ,
and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing
unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be
unclean, to him it is unclean. 15 But
if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou
not charitably . Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom
Christ died . 16 Let not then your good be evil spoken of : 17 For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. 18 For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men. 19 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another. 20 For
meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure;
but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence. 21 It
is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any
thing whereby thy brother stumbleth , or is offended , or is
made weak . 22 Hast thou faith?
have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not
himself in that thing which he alloweth . 23 And
he that doubteth is damned if he eat , because he eateth not
of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
1 And
the Ziphites came unto Saul to Gibeah, saying , Doth not David
hide himself in the hill of Hachilah, which is before Jeshimon? 2 Then
Saul arose , and went down to the wilderness of Ziph, having
three thousand chosen men of Israel with him, to seek David in
the wilderness of Ziph. 3 And Saul
pitched in the hill of Hachilah, which is before Jeshimon, by
the way. But David abode in the wilderness, and he saw that Saul
came after him into the wilderness. 4 David therefore sent out spies , and understood that Saul was come in very deed . 5 And
David arose , and came to the place where Saul had pitched : and
David beheld the place where Saul lay , and Abner the son of
Ner, the captain of his host: and Saul lay in the trench, and the
people pitched round about him. 6 Then
answered David and said to Ahimelech the Hittite, and to Abishai
the son of Zeruiah, brother to Joab, saying , Who will go down
with me to Saul to the camp? And Abishai said , I will go down
with thee. 7 So David and Abishai
came to the people by night: and, behold, Saul lay sleeping
within the trench, and his spear stuck in the ground at his
bolster: but Abner and the people lay round about him. 8 Then
said Abishai to David, God hath delivered thine enemy into
thine hand this day: now therefore let me smite him, I pray thee,
with the spear even to the earth at once , and I will not smite him
the second time . 9 And David said
to Abishai, Destroy him not: for who can stretch forth his hand
against the LORD'S anointed, and be guiltless ? 10 David
said furthermore, As the LORD liveth, the LORD shall smite him;
or his day shall come to die ; or he shall descend into battle,
and perish . 11 The LORD forbid
that I should stretch forth mine hand against the LORD'S anointed:
but, I pray thee, take thou now the spear that is at his bolster,
and the cruse of water, and let us go . 12 So
David took the spear and the cruse of water from Saul's bolster;
and they gat them away , and no man saw it, nor knew it, neither
awaked : for they were all asleep; because a deep sleep from the LORD
was fallen upon them. 13 Then David went over to the other side, and stood on the top of an hill afar off; a great space being between them: 14 And
David cried to the people, and to Abner the son of Ner, saying ,
Answerest thou not, Abner? Then Abner answered and said , Who
art thou that criest to the king? 15 And
David said to Abner, Art not thou a valiant man? and who is like
to thee in Israel? wherefore then hast thou not kept thy lord the
king? for there came one of the people in to destroy the king
thy lord. 16 This thing is not
good that thou hast done . As the LORD liveth, ye are worthy to
die, because ye have not kept your master, the LORD'S anointed.
And now see where the king's spear is, and the cruse of water that
was at his bolster. 17 And Saul
knew David's voice, and said , Is this thy voice, my son David?
And David said , It is my voice, my lord, O king. 18 And
he said , Wherefore doth my lord thus pursue after his servant?
for what have I done ? or what evil is in mine hand? 19 Now
therefore, I pray thee, let my lord the king hear the words of his
servant. If the LORD have stirred thee up against me, let him
accept an offering: but if they be the children of men, cursed be
they before the LORD; for they have driven me out this day from
abiding in the inheritance of the LORD, saying , Go , serve
other gods. 20 Now therefore, let
not my blood fall to the earth before the face of the LORD: for
the king of Israel is come out to seek a flea, as when one doth
hunt a partridge in the mountains. 21 Then
said Saul, I have sinned : return , my son David: for I will no
more do thee harm , because my soul was precious in thine eyes this
day: behold, I have played the fool , and have erred exceedingly
. 22 And David answered and said , Behold the king's spear! and let one of the young men come over and fetch it. 23 The
LORD render to every man his righteousness and his faithfulness:
for the LORD delivered thee into my hand to day, but I would not
stretch forth mine hand against the LORD'S anointed. 24 And,
behold, as thy life was much set by this day in mine eyes, so let
my life be much set by in the eyes of the LORD, and let him deliver
me out of all tribulation. 25 Then
Saul said to David, Blessed be thou, my son David: thou shalt
both do great things, and also shalt still prevail . So David
went on his way, and Saul returned to his place.
1 Save me, O God; for the waters are come in unto my soul. 2 I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me. 3 I am weary of my crying : my throat is dried : mine eyes fail while I wait for my God. 4 They
that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of mine
head: they that would destroy me, being mine enemies wrongfully,
are mighty : then I restored that which I took not away . 5 O God, thou knowest my foolishness; and my sins are not hid from thee. 6 Let
not them that wait on thee, O Lord GOD of hosts, be ashamed for
my sake: let not those that seek thee be confounded for my sake, O
God of Israel. 7 Because for thy sake I have borne reproach; shame hath covered my face. 8 I am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien unto my mother's children. 9 For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up ; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me. 10 When I wept , and chastened my soul with fasting, that was to my reproach. 11 I made sackcloth also my garment; and I became a proverb to them. 12 They that sit in the gate speak against me; and I was the song of the drunkards . 13 But
as for me, my prayer is unto thee, O LORD, in an acceptable time: O
God, in the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy
salvation. 14 Deliver me out of
the mire, and let me not sink : let me be delivered from them that
hate me, and out of the deep waters. 15 Let
not the waterflood overflow me, neither let the deep swallow me
up , and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me. 16 Hear me, O LORD; for thy lovingkindness is good: turn unto me according to the multitude of thy tender mercies. 17 And hide not thy face from thy servant; for I am in trouble : hear me speedily. 18 Draw nigh unto my soul, and redeem it: deliver me because of mine enemies . 19 Thou hast known my reproach, and my shame, and my dishonour: mine adversaries are all before thee. 20 Reproach
hath broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness : and I looked
for some to take pity , but there was none; and for comforters , but I
found none. 21 They gave me also gall for my meat; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink . 22 Let their table become a snare before them: and that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap. 23 Let their eyes be darkened , that they see not; and make their loins continually to shake . 24 Pour out thine indignation upon them, and let thy wrathful anger take hold of them. 25 Let their habitation be desolate ; and let none dwell in their tents. 26 For they persecute him whom thou hast smitten ; and they talk to the grief of those whom thou hast wounded. 27 Add iniquity unto their iniquity: and let them not come into thy righteousness. 28 Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous. 29 But I am poor and sorrowful : let thy salvation, O God, set me up on high . 30 I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving. 31 This also shall please the LORD better than an ox or bullock that hath horns and hoofs . 32 The humble shall see this, and be glad : and your heart shall live that seek God. 33 For the LORD heareth the poor, and despiseth not his prisoners. 34 Let the heaven and earth praise him, the seas, and every thing that moveth therein. 35 For God will save Zion, and will build the cities of Judah: that they may dwell there, and have it in possession . 36 The seed also of his servants shall inherit it: and they that love his name shall dwell therein. |
